QR code scanner

Scan a QR code with your camera, or read one from a picture or screenshot, and see where a link goes before you open it.

  • Camera or picture
  • Links checked first
  • Nothing uploaded

or drop a picture or screenshot here, or paste it (Ctrl+V)

Everything happens on your device: the camera picture and your files never leave it.

What's in the code

Point your camera at a QR code, or upload a picture of one. Links are shown here first, so you can check them before opening.

Why it's different

See it before you open it

Fake QR codes stuck over real ones are a common trick in India: on parking meters, shop counters and posters. The scanner never opens a link by itself. It shows the full website name first and warns about short links that hide the destination, look-alike letters, bare IP addresses, plain http and words like KYC, refund or prize.

Reads every common type

Website links, UPI payment codes (it shows who you'd pay and how much), Wi-Fi logins with a button to copy the password, contact cards you can save, calendar events you can add, WhatsApp chats, emails, texts, phone numbers, locations and plain text.

Camera, picture or screenshot

Use your phone's back camera or your laptop's webcam, switch cameras and turn on the torch where the phone allows it. Or upload or paste a screenshot of a QR code someone sent you: handy when the code is on the same phone you'd scan with.

Private

The camera picture and your images are read in your browser. Nothing is sent to FitMyKB or anyone else.

Questions

Asked a lot

Something else? Write to us; a person answers.

How do I scan a QR code from a screenshot?

Choose Upload a picture, or paste the screenshot on this page; the code is read from the image.

Is the scanner safe to use?

Yes. It only reads the code; links open only when you choose, after you've seen where they go.

Why won't my QR code scan?

Try more light, hold the phone steady 15 to 30 cm away, and make sure the whole code including its border is visible. Very small, blurry or low-contrast codes may not read.

Can I make my own QR code from a scanned one?

Yes. Choose Make my own QR from this to open the generator with the same content, ready for a new design.
