FitMyKB QR

Restaurant menu QR codes that keep working

Point the code at a menu page you can edit, print it at the right size for the table, and test it in the room's light before you laminate.

Link to a page, not a file

Point the code at a web page or a PDF link you control. The code itself never changes, so when prices change you edit the page, not the printed code. Codes from FitMyKB are static: nothing expires and nothing can switch them off.

Size for the table

People scan menus from 30 to 50 cm away, so print the code at least 3 cm wide, and 4 cm on table tents or with a logo in the middle. On a window or a wall poster, make it about a tenth of the scanning distance.

Contrast and light

Dark code on a light background, no glossy laminate in direct light, and a quiet border of four modules all round. Dim dining rooms need more contrast than the screen suggests.

Say what it does

A short label such as SEE THE MENU or ORDER HERE under the code gets more scans than a bare code. The Ticket and Menu ticket frames are made for this.

Test before printing many

Print one, put it on a table, and scan it with two different phones in the evening light. The studio's scan check catches design problems; only a real print shows lighting and size ones.

Do menu QR codes expire?

Not ours: the link is written into the pattern, so the code works for as long as the print lasts.
